About the project

The “Caring for Tomorrow: Sanitary Standards of the Future” project, implemented by NGO “PLATFORM OF INITIATIVES TEPLYCYA”, is aimed at improving sanitary and hygiene conditions in educational institutions of the Drohobych community and creating decent living conditions for students from vulnerable categories. The initiative combines upgrades to WASH infrastructure, furnishing a dormitory with furniture, and educational activities on hygiene and responsible use of water resources.

The project was implemented in response to the growing pressure on the community’s educational infrastructure caused by the increasing number of internally displaced persons, particularly children and youth, as well as the need for safe, inclusive, and modern sanitary spaces in schools and student accommodation.

What was done

Project approach

The project is based on the principles of inclusion, safety, dignity, and community participation. Before the work began, the team took into account requests from local councils, educational institution administrations, student self-government bodies, and dormitory residents. During implementation, feedback mechanisms were established, and participants were informed about safety rules, occupational health standards, environmental standards, and the prevention of discrimination or exploitation.

Who this project is for

Expected and achieved impact

Thanks to the project, basic conditions for hygiene, safety, and daily comfort are improving in educational institutions and the dormitory. This directly affects the health, well-being, dignity, and inclusion of children and young people, especially those who have experienced displacement or belong to vulnerable groups. The educational component reinforces the infrastructure improvements by fostering lasting habits of personal hygiene and careful use of resources.
